GARZA TO DO A BRIEF PLANNING STUDY AT THE SOUTH TEXAS INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT WITH SOME ADJACENT LAND AND WHAT THAT MIGHT LOOK LIKE IN TERMS OF INDUSTRIAL CAPABILITY IN THE FUTURE. I'M GOING TO PROVIDE A FEW SLIDES, GIVE YOU AN OVERVIEW, HIGH LEVEL OVERVIEW OF MY UNDERSTANDING IS YOU'VE ALREADY BEEN BRIEFED ON A LOT OF THIS INFORMATION. SO WE'LL JUST GO THROUGH THIS REAL QUICKLY AND FEEL FREE TO STOP WITH QUESTIONS ANYTIME. IN TERMS OF TONIGHT, WE'LL WE'LL LOOK AT THE PROJECT PURPOSE SOME OF THE ALTERNATIVES THAT WE EVALUATED, THE IMPLEMENTATION PLAN, WHICH IS THE OVERALL PROPOSED COST ESTIMATE OVER THE TIME FRAME.

THEIR MISSION STATEMENT, IF YOU WILL. I'M NOT GOING TO HIGHLIGHT THAT OF PROVIDING A VITAL CONDUIT FOR SECURITY, COMMERCE AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT FOR THE RIO GRANDE VALLEY OF SOUTH TEXAS.
SO WITH THIS STUDY, WE'RE PIGGYBACKING ON TO THAT ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PORTION, IF YOU WILL. THIS IS THE RECOMMENDED PLAN THAT CAME OUT OF THAT STUDY.
INCREASE IN THE PAVEMENT FOR THE RUNWAY, ADDITIONAL HANGAR SPACE.
AND ON THIS WEST SIDE, WHICH IS WHAT WE'LL BE FOCUSING ON THIS EVENING. CURRENTLY UNDEVELOPED, BUT WE ARE LOOKING AT OPPORTUNITIES AND OPTIONS FOR THAT. IN TERMS OF OUR PROJECT, THE PURPOSE WAS TO PROVIDE A PATH FORWARD REGARDING DESIGNATION OF LAND ON THE WEST SIDE AND THE FOR IMPLEMENTATION OF UTILITIES AND VARIOUS SIZED PARCELS FROM THE SMALLEST TO FIVE, UP TO THE LARGEST OF WHATEVER THAT ACTUAL TENANT THAT MAY NEED THAT, THAT PARCELIZATION SOME OF THE CONSIDERATIONS THAT WE LOOKED AT.
AGAIN, WE LOOKED AT THE ALP, THE PREVIOUS RECOMMENDED PLAN THAT YOU SAW THERE AS OUR BASELINE FROM WHAT TO START WITH.
AGAIN, THE THE PARCELS WERE VARIED FROM SMALL TO LARGE TO BE ABLE TO ACCOMMODATE WHAT WE REFER TO AS MAINTENANCE, REPAIR AND OVERHAUL, WHICH ARE LARGE MAINTENANCE FACILITIES THAT ARE PROVIDED BY AIRLINES AND OR OTHER THIRD PARTY SERVICES. ACCESS TO HIGHWAY 69 AND 490.
ONE OF THE IMPORTANT THINGS TO TO NOTE IS THERE WAS AN AIRPORT DRAINAGE STUDY THAT'S CURRENTLY BEING CONDUCTED AND IS IN PROCESS, TO MY UNDERSTANDING, TO HELP ELIMINATE AND ALLEVIATE SOME OF THE PONDING AND THE WATER ISSUES THAT ARE AT THE AIRPORT DUE TO THE FLATNESS OF IT.
SO WE CONSIDER THAT AS PART OF THIS PROJECT AS WELL.
AND ALSO WE LOOKED AT WHERE THE EXISTING UTILITY LINES ARE, ELECTRIC, WATER, SEWER, USING THAT AS A BASELINE IN TERMS OF WHERE WE COULD TAP IN AT SOME POINT INTO THE IN THE FUTURE.
IN TERMS OF ALTERNATIVES, WE PROVIDED TWO, TWO VARIOUS ALTERNATIVES.
ONE IS THE CURRENT SITUATION WHERE THE RUNWAY IS INTACT WITH NO LENGTHENING OR EXTENSION.
THE YELLOW AREAS AND THE THE TEAL AREAS ARE THE AREAS OF WHAT WE'VE PROPOSED VARIOUS

BUT WE WE WANTED TO MAKE SURE THAT WE WE CAPTURED THAT IN TERMS OF WHAT WE WERE LOOKING AT. SO THAT WAS ALTERNATIVE ONE.
ALTERNATIVE TWO WE INCLUDED THE THE MAXIMIZATION OF THE RUNWAY CAPABILITY.
I THINK THIS IS ABOUT AS 7600 FOOT TOTAL LENGTH.
THAT IS AGAIN, THAT'S PRESERVATION.
AND THAT WOULD AT SOME POINT HAVE TO BE JUSTIFIED TO BE ABLE TO BE FUNDED.

AND YOU'LL SEE A SET OF HANGARS WITH APRON SPACE, SO THAT THAT AREA WAS ALREADY APPLIED FOR AND ALLOCATED ON THE RECOMMENDED PLAN FROM THE ALP SET. SO THAT'S A DUPLICATION ON THIS TO PRESERVE THAT AREA FOR THAT.
BUT THEN IT'S JUST CHRONOLOGY SEQUENCES, THE BUILD OUT OF THE PARCELS MOVING FROM NORTH TO SOUTH. AND THE RED LINES ARE THE EXISTING UTILITY LINES AS THEY SIT RIGHT NOW.

GARZA TO DO A BRIEF PLANNING STUDY AT THE SOUTH TEXAS INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT WITH SOME ADJACENT LAND AND WHAT THAT MIGHT LOOK LIKE IN TERMS OF INDUSTRIAL CAPABILITY IN THE FUTURE. I'M GOING TO HERE PROVIDE A FEW SLIDES, GIVE YOU AN OVERVIEW, A HIGH LEVEL OVERVIEW OF MY UNDERSTANDING, AS YOU'VE ALREADY BEEN BRIEFED ON A LOT OF THIS INFORMATION. SO WE'LL JUST GO THROUGH THIS REAL QUICKLY AND FEEL FREE TO STOP WITH QUESTIONS ANYTIME.
IN TERMS OF TONIGHT, WE'LL WE'LL LOOK AT THE PROJECT PURPOSE SOME OF THE ALTERNATIVES THAT WE EVALUATED THE IMPLEMENTATION PLAN, WHICH IS THE OVERALL PROPOSED COST ESTIMATE OVER THE TIME FRAME. AND PART OF THAT, THEY HAD A GOAL OR AN OBJECTIVE, THEIR MISSION STATEMENT, IF YOU WILL. I'M NOT GOING TO HIGHLIGHT THAT OF PROVIDING A VITAL CONDUIT FOR SECURITY, COMMERCE AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT FOR THE RIO GRANDE VALLEY OF SOUTH TEXAS.
SO WITH THIS STUDY, WE'RE PIGGYBACKING ON TO THAT ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PORTION, IF YOU WILL. THIS IS THE RECOMMENDED PLAN THAT CAME OUT OF THAT STUDY.
INCREASE IN THE PAVEMENT FOR THE RUNWAY, ADDITIONAL HANGAR SPACE.
AND ON THIS WEST SIDE, WHICH IS WHAT WE'LL BE FOCUSING ON THIS EVENING. CURRENTLY UNDEVELOPED, BUT WE ARE LOOKING AT OPPORTUNITIES AND OPTIONS FOR THAT. IN TERMS OF OUR PROJECT, THE PURPOSE WAS TO PROVIDE A PATH FORWARD REGARDING DESIGNATION OF LAND ON THE WEST SIDE AND THE FOR IMPLEMENTATION OF UTILITIES AND VARIOUS SIZED PARCELS FROM THE SMALLEST TO FIVE, UP TO THE LARGEST OF WHATEVER THAT ACTUAL TENANT THAT MAY NEED THAT, THAT PARCELIZATION. SOME OF THE CONSIDERATIONS THAT WE LOOKED AT, AGAIN, WE LOOKED AT THE ALP, THE PREVIOUS RECOMMENDED PLAN THAT YOU SAW THERE AS AS OUR BASELINE FROM WHAT TO START WITH.
AGAIN, THE THE PARCELS WERE VARIED FROM SMALL TO LARGE TO BE ABLE TO ACCOMMODATE WHAT WE REFERRED TO AS MAINTENANCE, REPAIR AND OVERHAUL, WHICH ARE LARGE MAINTENANCE FACILITIES THAT ARE PROVIDED BY AIRLINES AND OR OTHER THIRD PARTY SERVICES.

ONE OF THE IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE IS THERE IS AN AIRPORT DRAINAGE STUDY THAT'S CURRENTLY BEING CONDUCTED AND IS IN PROCESS, TO MY UNDERSTANDING, TO HELP ELIMINATE AND ALLEVIATE SOME OF THE PONDING AND THE WATER ISSUES THAT ARE OUT AT THE AIRPORT DUE TO THE FLATNESS OF IT.SO WE CONSIDER THAT AS PART OF THIS PROJECT AS WELL.
AND ALSO WE LOOKED AT WHERE THE EXISTING UTILITY LINES ARE, ELECTRIC, WATER, SEWER, USING THAT AS A BASELINE IN TERMS OF WHERE WE COULD TAP IN AT SOME POINT INTO THE FUTURE.
WE PROVIDED TWO, TWO VARIOUS ALTERNATIVES.
ONE IS THE CURRENT SITUATION WHERE THE RUNWAY IS INTACT WITH NO LENGTHENING OR EXTENSION.
THE YELLOW AREAS AND THE THE TEAL AREAS ARE THE AREAS OF WHAT WE'VE PROPOSED VARIOUS ACREAGE AMOUNTS. ONE OF THE THINGS I DO WANT TO HIGHLIGHT IS THAT CIRCULAR AREA THERE JUST TO THE WEST. THAT IS YOUR WEATHER REPORTING STATION.
WITHIN THAT CONFINES, THERE IS A CRITICAL AREA WHERE THERE'S ELIMINATION OF ANYTHING TO BE CONSTRUCTED OVER THERE, JUST TO PRECLUDE MINIMIZATION, TO IMPACTING THE WEATHER REPORTING CAPABILITY. SO THAT AREA IS ONE OF THE THINGS THAT WE ALSO TOOK INTO CONSIDERATION IN TERMS OF WHERE YOU COULD BUILD AND WHERE YOU COULD NOT BUILD IN THE RECOMMENDED PLAN THAT IS ACTUALLY SLATED TO BE MOVED TO A DIFFERENT LOCATION, THUS OPENING THIS AREA UP TO POTENTIAL DEVELOPMENT AT SOME POINT IN THE FUTURE.
BUT WE WE WANTED TO MAKE SURE THAT WE WE CAPTURED THAT IN TERMS OF WHAT WE WERE LOOKING AT. SO THAT WAS ALTERNATIVE ONE.
ALTERNATIVE TWO, WE INCLUDED THE THE MAXIMIZATION OF THE RUNWAY CAPABILITY.
I THINK THIS IS ABOUT AS 7600 FOOT TOTAL LENGTH.

SO THAT'S A DUPLICATION ON THIS TO PRESERVE THAT AREA FOR THAT.
BUT THEN IT'S JUST CHRONOLOGY SEQUENCES, THE BUILD OUT OF THE PARCELS MOVING FROM NORTH TO SOUTH, AND THE RED LINES ARE THE EXISTING UTILITY LINES AS THEY SIT RIGHT NOW.

WE HAVE 400 STUDENT ATHLETES THIS FALL.

THESE YOUNG PEOPLE LIVE RIGHT HERE ON CAMPUS OR AROUND THE SURROUNDING AREA OF CAMPUS.
