LOOK WHERE YOU'RE HEADED OVER THE NEXT 10 TO 20 YEARS. TYPICALLY, I ALWAYS SAY MANY DECADES OUT WHEN YOU'RE THINKING ABOUT PUTTING ROADS ON THE GROUND, PIPES IN THE GROUND, BUILDING PARKS, ALL THESE PIECES THAT WILL BE THERE FOR THE LONG TERM. YOU HAVE YOUR STRATEGIC PLAN THAT WAS DONE VERY RECENTLY THAT ALSO SET SOME OF THOSE PRIORITIES, MAYBE MORE SHORT TERM. IN SOME WAYS, THIS REALLY LOOKS DOWN THE ROAD TO THAT BIGGER PICTURE. UNDER STATE LAW, IT'S ALSO REALLY WHAT BACKS UP YOUR ZONING REGULATIONS. IT'S REQUIRED IF YOU HAVE ZONING IN YOUR CITY. SO THERE'S A FUTURE LAND USE PLAN IN THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN. AND I WOULD JUST LIKE TO ADD AGAIN, JUST WANT TO MAKE SURE WE'RE BEING VERY OPEN AND SOLICIT FEEDBACK FROM THE COMMUNITY. THE LAST TIME WE DID THIS WAS IN 2005. AND SO WE WERE A LITTLE OVER 50,000 IN POPULATION. SO I THINK IT WAS IMPORTANT AS A TIME THAT WE UPDATED IT TO HELP US GUIDE WHAT WE DO AS THE CITY MOVES FORWARD. SO, BUT BUT THANK YOU, SIR. YOU MAY CONTINUE. AND ON THAT NOTE, MAYOR, THE CITY HAS CERTAINLY BEEN DOING OTHER TYPES OF PLANS, SPECIALIZED PLANS, PARKS, UTILITIES, AND UNDER STATE LAW, THAT CAN BE A COMPREHENSIVE PLAN. BUT IT'S BETTER TO REALLY DO ONE DOCUMENT THAT THEN PULLS IT ALL TOGETHER AND LOOKS DOWN THE ROAD. SO THESE ARE THE SIX THEMES WE PRESENTED PREVIOUSLY FOR THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN. RESPONSE TIMES, STAFFING, THINGS LIKE THAT. BUT IN GENERAL, JUST THE CAPACITY OF THE COMMUNITY TO HAVE TO DEAL WITH GROWTH IN THE FUTURE. SO A NUMBER OF ITEMS ON THAT LIST AND TOWARD THE BOTTOM, ALSO THE REGIONALISM THEME, ONCE AGAIN, AND THAT WILL SHOW UP HERE IN SOME OF THE LATER POINTS AND SLIDES. IF YOU'RE ADDING 2.7% EVERY YEAR TO AN EXPANDING PIE, THAT'S A LOT OF PEOPLE TO KEEP ADDING, SO THE PERCENTAGE WILL TEND TO COME DOWN OVER TIME.
